Combined surgical pathology/subspecialty surgical pathology fellows take six months of general surgical pathology rotations as described above depending upon interest and availability. In addition they take six months of rotations as fellows in a subspecialty area of surgical pathology such as GU pathology, cardiothoracic/pulmonary pathology, breast pathology, gynecologic pathology (combined breast and gynecologic pathology (women's health pathology), and bone and soft tissue tumor pathology. The six months of subspecialty rotations feature duties as  junior attending, supervising residents and presenting cases to the attending ready to sign out, managing the busy subspecialty consult and referral biopsy services, presenting at tumor board and multidisciplinary conferences and on translational research projects.
